That makes more sense. We get up to almost 2mpg just on plane not pushing it and going about 22kts

No let me retype. 2.5 Gallons per mile. Most twin engine gassers do .7 a mile. God I love this topic. Lol
Huh? That makes no sense, you mean 2.5 miles per gallon...?

So wait...is this proof that diesels....are....better???????

I ran a full season in a near 10k lbs boat on half a tank of diesel (50 to 60 gallons)

I was filing up the rinker with a 60 gallon tank every other weekend. Near same hours and identical style of use over each season.

Diesels are definitely more efficient that is proven. However that doesn't necessarily mean gas doesn't serve it's purpose. Diesel acquisition cost is higher and to make that up in fuel and longevity can take a long time.

Yeah agree with @shawnmjr. We really got off the main topic here though😃. Maybe we should discuss hardtops next 😉

Okay so that means at that speed and GPH I was around 1.18 MPG. So about twice as much.

Some would trade all their fingers and toes to have two @Handymans342 thumbs

I couldn't see buying anything that floats or drives new.  Let some other chump take the depreciation hit.  Maybe when my long lost uncle dies and leaves me millions ill buy new.

Maybe if socialism takes over we will all get trust funds???
