Who removes their oil through the dip stick and who uses the hose attached to the oil pan drain?

I do both, LoL! My starboard pan has a drain hose my port doesn’t. I figured the hose gets more oil out than the pump.

It's the dipstick itself where the factory threaded piece is on top of it, they are two separate parts and not connected that well. I have the washer it's hard to describe the issue but either way I'll fix it.  


It is kinda like this one. Where the black and not black area meet it's not sealed very well. 



Last oil change with the topsider I got about 6 quarts which is just about maybe 1 quart left in the engine.

Dipstick for me. Never seen a hose on the pan.

this is good friend or pump on a drill. The treads on the dip stick are the same as a garnden hose

I also use the topsider. My threaded portion on the dipstick isn't sealed very well on the dipstick so I need to seal it better. Maybe just some RTV silicone.

I use the drill use fresh oil to prime.it is much faster then the topsider but the top side gets more out. A hose washer should help with the sealing of the hose.

Just wondering how much oil is left behind using dipstick?  Switching to synthetic and want to get out as much as I can. When you refill how close to the listed capacity does it take?

Just did the dip stick method.  Listed capacity is 4.5 quarts w/ filter change.  Added 4 quarts.  So only about a 1/2 quart left behind.  I just switched to synthetic too.
