@YYZRC I know you did this. I’m thinking about using this space for towel storage. Do you think it will work well with just a door and no cabinet? I will keep the ice maker for future use if wanted. Do you have a link to the door you used?
Funny, I just sold the cabinet to another forum member!
I ordered the door from BoatOutfitters.com, it was about $300 and was custom made to my specs.

I don't think it would work very well without the box because the space is not very linear, however, you could definitely add a couple pieces of plywood to block off the back and side against the fridge. If I had to do it all over again, I would probably go that route rather than building the cabinet box.
EDIT: I wouldn't order the bulb seal if I could do it all over again, it was not necessary. The other aspects of the door I was very happy with.
Thanks @YYZRC ! When I get some time I’ll remove it and see whats back there. I might even have a pic of it removed when I took it out to have the frame powder coated.
Gotcha. I just cant imagine life without it now that I've had one on the last two boats, but yea we are spoiled with good water which I still filter at the spigot so not a good comparison. Glad you are keeping yours "Handy".....
Have been thinking the same for the wash down sprayer on the back of our boat. There is a big plastic tank in the engine compartment that wastes a bunch of space & it would be nice open up. Just haven't been able to talk myself into yet but your project gives me a good push.
I got more free beers and a few margaritas by sharing ice....the beast they put in the Rinker EC 360 made 33 lbs a day. We bagged it and kept it in a cooler for "drop-ins". Next to radar and satellite TV the icemaker would be the last thing to go....and for what storage space for towels. Geez....you guys are getting old! This thread was depressing! :-(

(apologies for the Handy - like response LOL)
Having a 3 and 5 year old the storage would be very convenient. Don’t worry, the fridges are fully stocked! 🍻 🍷 🍹
