You should do a stainless panel on the ice maker to match!
I agree. I may have to see where I can get a piece cut for it.
I’ll have to do some digging. A few years ago I found a company that cuts stainless to size. I had them cut a panel for my fridge. It turned out great.

You could order a stainless panel on Amazon that's intended for installing behind a cooktop and cut it to size if you're industrious. I used one for a project a while back. I think it was about $50.
Thanks @YYZRC & @Cableguy Greg . I added the SS panel to my wishlist. I'll have to do some looking around, but under $50 is pretty good. It does seem a bit thin, especially if it has to stand on its own (not sure, I'll have to remove the ice maker panel to see what's there.
I wonder if something like this (stainless steel contact paper) would work? It would stick to the original door panel. I'd just have to take my time to not get air bubbles. I guess I wouldn't have much to lose except the 8 buck to try it. Any thoughts?
So, I have the ice maker door torn apart. Definitely not what I thought. The panel won’t slide out and it is all very snug. Not sure how you guys put a new stainless plate on it. I did buy the stainless roll and will try to stick it on. My concern is how well I get the cut along the edge since I won’t be able to tuck it behind the lip. Still worth trying. I since I’ll have enough in the roll for several tries, I thought I’d first try cutting before sticking, using a straight edge.
Interesting. When I changed out the face of my ULine ice maker on the 342, it was black. Similarly only the top came off, but there was an open 1/4" track that I was able to slide the new piece down in to. Yours doesnt have that track or opening. I used a piece of wood backing to fill the void. Note - when I was cutting the wood backing, I clipped my thumb on the table saw blade (DUMB). ER bill was more than a whole new ice maker, so dont do that! Another Note - They sell replacement door gaskets
So, the part of the gasket you see is all nice clean and new (& white). The picture is showing the backside. I plan to just pull it completely off and clean the part that inserts (that is dirty). I did replace the one on my fridge not long ago (now it's a spare). I get the stainless stuff today, so I'm anxious to give it a try.
@aero3113 FWIW, I did weigh both fridges before I installed the new one and the old one is about 6 lbs heavier. So, not a lot of difference between them, but the new one is lighter.
So, for 8 bucks, I’m very happy with this. I have enough left to do it 2 more times. It’s not perfect, but nothing noticeable. Was very easy to cut using a knife. Definitely have to be very careful with it until it’s stuck on something flat. I used a pair of scissors to remove the plastic covering and dented it a bit, so I had to cut that off.
It is actually stainless sheet, just real thin. It states it’s contact paper, not sure what that means. But it is real stainless just like kitchen appliances. As long as the surface you are applying it to is fairly smooth, you won’t know if it is thick or not. Not sue I would actually use it to cover full kitchen appliances not only cause I couldn’t do it perfectly, but it is soft and could dent easy. I think it’s perfect for the application on this ice maker. No one will ever know.
Looks good. Was on my boat today and looked at my ice maker, white door like yours, same deal with little to no room to slide a stainless sheet in. Interesting black door has plenty of space and almost nothing on white.
Very nice @Dream_Inn I might look into doing this for my ice maker. Does the grain run the same direction?
The grain runs in the same direction. I made it that way. You can roll out in either direction as it was large enough to go either way. thanks all for the compliments!
Today I stole a move from @Dream_Inn! Installed the same CRX-1065 fridge, and the same self-adhesive metal film on the ice maker. Man, this forum is such a great resource.
By sheer luck, I found an open-box fridge on eBay for $700, and was able to go pick it up today. Drop-in fit, same-day pickup, and $400 less than any other vendor. What's not to like?
It gets better: the freezer compartment is removable! That is a brilliant innovation. I already have a freezer in the cabin. Now the cockpit fridge can store bottles upright.
(Haven't removed the film from the fridge yet ...)

How close of a match do you think it is to the frigid stainless?

It looked like the roll was narrower one way.
