My father used to live in Cape Coral, now not too far from Port Charlotte. They drove down to FL City for a day or two to stay out of this mess. Hopefully their place is ok when they get back.
Nothing much in Central Florida all day except constant drizzle....so, I washed the boat. Nice weather to clean in. Port Charlotte area. Cayo Costa, the captiva islands...they are 2" above sea level....
Down south here its starting to lighten up. Had 3 tornadoes last night a couple miles from the house. That scares me more than the hurricanes. Blasted news was tracking them with arrows pointing straight at our neighborhood. 2 landed south and 1 west of us.
I figured the lower keys at least would get hit pretty hard..it is passing through us now as a tropical storm...the down town I'm reading on SM is flooded from lake Monroe on the st johns river which is going to flood for like 200 miles...and the area where it came on shore was my favorite boating area I have seen to date at cayo Costa, upper captiva and the boa grand area of Port Charlotte ....
