What do you think of this for a live-aboard? #2

Might have a winner here.. although it doesn't have outboards, at least it's not an I/O and I have actually stepped inside this boat model, it offers LOTS of space, a standup shower, etc.. etc..

And the best part, that huge table up front!!

Winner winner chicken dinner!  Unless there are major problems not shown in the photos, I think you've found your next home.

Sent over an email to the broker asking if there are any KNOWN issues that would prevent a successful trip to the keys. I understand 99.99% of brokers will say it's perfect and no issues. Have to give a person a chance to be honest and genuine though.

She rides a little bow high it seems.. hmm.

This is what one looks like when it's dressed up like you and I would do it.

One thing I noticed is the bimini not being attached to the arch like the second one. Having it attached to the arch wilt make the cockpit area so much larger feeling.

That would be the first thing to change, also would change it to the color in the youtube video above.. I do see evidence of a leak in the mirror in the bathroom picture, and there seems to be something happening on the heat exchangers towards the outside of each one of them on the top.

I'd also place the TV's like they are in the video. I'm sure there's a real reason for a 17k price drop. Just have to figure out what that reason is.

Things are lined up pretty nicely for selling the 270 with just having the bottom, tabs and outdrive being professionally sanded and painted.. hmm.

Told the broker to be straight with me. Said there is "moisture in the stringers" and that the work to "fix" could be 10kish depending on the approach to repair. Said he had 3 guys that would take it on and do it in the area..

I told him to let me know if the price comes down anymore.

My gut reaction is I do not need a boat being repaired for things like this 4 or 5 hours from my location and I also don't need a 35 ft headache.

Thoughts on that? He did say that if I were to be interested in moving forward he would insist on a formal survey for moisture in the hull. So at least the broker is a standup guy..

I think he prob knows this boat is not going to sell anytime soon.

How easy is stinger access?   With pour in products like arjay it's almost a diy project these days

Ouch.  I guess that qualifies as "major problems not shown in the photos".  But even with a $10k repair (by a reputable yard) it might still be worthwhile.

Sure does. In my mind, if it comes down another 10k maybe it would be worth it.. but what a headache...

Not sure if 180 to 220k is in your price range but the jeanneau merry fisher 895 is an incredible looking boat for cruising and dock side entertaining.  Considered an off shore capable vessel, twin outboards, Genny, full enclosure optional.  Trailerable during threat of a storm  with many new 1/2 ton pickups.  Jeanneau owned by Groupe Beneteau, built here in Marion, SC.  They've got a pretty decent reputation for boat building.

I've not seen I've not seen if the beth turns into a table.

And thinking outside the box, ever googled an Adventurecraft 2800?   More drafts 14 inches, could be towed with most older full sized suvs or pickups

working on that making that the price  range!! Probably never going to happen though. If I could afford 175k for a liveaboard, I'd be on that sea ray 370 venture right now!!

Adventurecraft 2800, while butt ugly it sure looks comfortable.  One is for sale on a trailer in Myrtle Beach for 50k.   I believe this pic is from a listing for one in largo a few years ago.

So I'm sure you know one of the greatest dive bars ever, Mahuffers aka Sloppy John's. 😉
We are actually staying at my brother's place in South Pasadena. He's on the intracoastal right across the bridge from St. Pete Beach. View this morning from the balcony.

Pic was taken from the dockside patio at the Salt Rock Grill. Great food and a good deal if you go for the early bird/happy hour between 4 and 6. Four of us had dinner and several drinks for about $100.

$100 for 4 is a great deal. Just went there for my wifes birthday and it cost my dad a lot more than $100 for 4. Should have gone early!

While this isn't an example of a cheap one,  due to many being sold as a cheap single engine 454 model boat these can be found for a song.  Only made from 91 to about 93.

Also sold in much more properly powered twin 5.7 models.

I wouldn’t even be comfortable setting foot on that boat whilst on the hard. That thing is disgusting.

Oh my @YYZRC tell us how you really feel! As a 270 owner with a single motor...lots of room!

11ft beam on that Bayliner with single 300ish hp motor.

You have room to do the chacha while changing manifold and risers.

And yes, very dirty.  One with a bad motor for sale just north of my sister in Wilmington for 12k obo. Supposedly comes with a newly rebuilt 454 modeled after a Michigan motorz high performance build.  I personally don't trust many rebuilds.

If i knew it would fit my trailer I'd be very interested as it's a very roomy boat.  If you built an enclosure for the  rear cockpit area I think it would make a great small live aboard for a single person or close couple

But I'd have to repower it with a set of twin inline diesels.  That's the part I can't afford.   I'd be happy with a max 20 hp full speed on a boat that size.   Reminds me of their 3288 motor sailor/trawler.  Weighs in less than 5tons so it's not any heavier than my current boat.  But so much more room.
