What is gear ratio for 2002 350 Mag Bravo3 stolen - any non-OEM replacements

Thank you! This is a 2002 Rinker 250 Viesta Vee. Bought it new w/upgraded 350 Mag / Bravo 3. Stored all these years on it's own lift at a vacation home. 315 hours on original engine.

Well that just sucks. I store mine public storage and that the first thing I look for. Other than the weight, pretty easy to pop off. I did have my dash stolen with all the gauges,  that was fun.

If you know the drive serial # contact Mercury or a dealer to get the specs for it.

I have the same boat with the same engine and a 2.20:1 ratio.

My owners manual have stickers from Mercury with serial numbers on them

There's a certified pre owned b3x 2.20 on eBay right now for 6400, one year warranty.  

I'd check mercruiser registration to verify gear ratios.

Not long ago it did.  Believe me, I know after buying 3 different new ones over the years!

I've never priced a standard bravo,  the x models new are about 11-12k.

You can find them on Facebook Marketplace around $3k-$4k but you have to trust the seller. You can usually tell who knows what they have and if it’s in good working order.

New OEM with 2 props is quoted at $15.5K. That assumes they did no other damage when removing it. My new challenge that I am looking for suggestions. The boat is up on a lift over the water. It now has a large hole where the outdrive was removed. I need to have this towed from my dock to the marina. When I drop the boat into the water it will take on water, into the engine I think. BoatUS towing is saying I need seal this hole before they will attempt to tow it. Any suggestions on sealing this hole well enough that the engine/boat doesn't fill with water and sink the boat? Also note Geico insurance covered zero cost due to depreciation and deductible. THANK YOU ALL - you have been the only positive part of this terrible experience.

That sucks on the insurance deal. Maybe you can get some kind of plate to bolt over the hole to seal it to move the boat

The SEI drives are $4545.00 know several people that have used with no problems.

Thx. Captkevin. I was thinking of the plate idea too but that seems like a new fab. I am considering a used OEM or will go with the SEI. For peace of mind probably leaning towards SEI. BTW I also have 2 2017 Yamaha VX H/O Cruisers. Bought these last year and they are way more fun than I remember them to be.

What's the distance it needs to be towed? I agree about a plate.  Tows are usually fairly slow, so no worries about something ripping off under speed. So what about a 1/4" aluminum plate templated to the outdrive shape and stuck on with the bolts and some 3m 4200?

Since you're on a lift you can test the water tightness of your plate before towing. Just dip it in to see if it takes on water. And make sure your bilge pumps are powered up - and/or have the tow operator put one of their dewatering systems in place just in case it's needed on-the-fly.

My boat came with at least one SEI drive, no issues. They also come with a good 3 year warranty.

Does SEI make a B3 replacement? I don’t see one on their website. I would think an aluminum plate would be your best bet. Good luck and keep us posted.

For salvage they have these inflatable balloons to raise a sunken vessel. Could one go under stern and the boat lowered so that the stern is kept above the waterline and towed?

Are parts interchangeable between OEM and SEI? I’m shocked at the price of SEI, this is great to know.

The plate can be a thin piece of aluminum that would be easy to bend in place and then caulk.  It is not needed for long, so nothing fancy.  That is really horrible!  I'm on a lift as well and could not imagine coming to my boat to find the drive gone.  Please let us know how things work out.

Reviews on other forms list the SEI warranty as pretty **** good.  I'm not sure if they still have a no questions asked warranty.  It used to be a drive they'd take back if you break the foot on a rock,  minus your shipping charges

The plug looks perfect and much less time consuming than cutting a plate. 



Any chance your insurance will help you out with a loss via theft?
