My friend, if you're doing all of that, I'd rec you go ahead and move to mpi.. you could raid a boneyard for everything you'd need to make it happen, and even line up a merc pcm to manage it... Or.. call up SCT, Spartan, H&S, or any other host of custom programmers and use even a pcm from the boneyard loaded with the custom script... Doing so you net you an easy and reliable 300 ponies, and 50mph ought not be a problem... It would also increase the reliability and longevity of that engine, so long as the rotating assembly is in good condition..

Word to the wise, though, FWIW: new heads are **** a tired bottom end.. you'll likely retrieve the compression the engine has lost over time via valve seats and guides.. increasing/retrieving that compression can lead to bad things if the rings are worn, piston faces aren't pristine, wrist pins and bearings aren't healthy, rod journals.. caps... Yada blah blah... You could be lighting a fuse.

To tell you the truth, you are not going to see any difference between the Vortec heads and the common open chamber heads.
