We have a 7.4L Mag MPI and I have been using Shell Rotella T 15w40.  This is formulation for diesel engines but from my understanding has better additive package for a marine duty cycle

Rotella is good stuff.. I run T6 in my IH 6.4... Be warned, though, that shell has quietly changed the formula of the full synthetic (t6) to lower production costs, and that t5 (blended) and dino (t1) are both on the table for a similar re-brew..

Dunno if that means not as good as before, but just that they're changing or have changed it.. my next Blackstone will tell that tale better than I can..

The additive package in rotella is dang near as good as that in straight marine oils.. they're almost identical, in fact.
