Not sure what this is on a 342 Fiesta Vee??

2 I have taken delivery of my long awaited Rinker 342 today and wondered if anyone knew what this is?  I'm guessing it's an intake for the outdrives separate from the outdrive but want to make sure.  Is these anything I need to check on it before it goes in the water?

Is that raw wood next to it, If so I'd make sure it's watertight before putting it back in water

I doubt it is involved with the outdrives?  not sure, but could be a water pickup for the generator?

Most of the through hull water inlets on the hull are low profile bronze plates.  That looks a little like a scoop.  My guess would be something aftermarket or improvised after the failure of another inlet.  Would be interesting to know what's on the other side.

Thanks for all the comments so far guys.  I have two other flush bronze through hull fittings but this thing I was surprised to see.  It looks like it has been fitted aftermarket due the work you can see beside it but I don't know for sure.  @Stodge might be spot on but I'll have a look tomorrow, maybe I can see the other side in the engine bay.

I have 3 inlets.  Genny, head and A/C.  The head and A/C inlets are more midship, genny is more astern.

Apparently it's a transducer so @RinkerYan wins the prize!  No idea some models looked like that to be honest.  I'm going to do some research to find out what kind it is and who makes them that big.

While I'm asking noobie questions I was wondering what the three outlets were on the stern below.

One of them most likely is for fresh water to your boats domestic water plumbing.  Don't know what #2 or #3 might be.  These could possibly be plumbed, one to each engine, so you can fresh water flush them at the end of a salt water voyage.  Just wild guesses however.

Dan, they are probably exactly what Tony said.  I'd guess two are for flushing each engine.  Follow the lines inside and see where they go.  I'd be curious if there is a "T" or a one way valve, or if it is counting on those plastic caps to keep from drawing air in.  Definitely something you should follow up on.

The Salt Shaker has the three water inlets, the two for the engines and the other for the fresh water.  I had the engine inlets installed, they were not part of the boat as delvered.  Since it is not a factory option, each installation of the water inlets would look different.

The water inlets are on the stern, similar to the ones you show in your photos.

Randy, might be best to start s new topic on that.  There are probably more than a half dozen 342s in my marina on lifts. I have to say I'd have it no other way.

Follow-up....  I found out what the inlets were on the stern after tracing back, etc.  The bottom one is indeed the shore water hook-up and the top two are port and starboard fresh water flush for the engines.
