Yeah, I'm dying to try out my new dinghy and motor..... 60+ degree air temp but that water is going to be like a ice bath!! I think I'll wait another few weeks.

I just scored me a 2-stroke 9.5hp on craigslist for $200! I havent started it yet (plan on trying today, didnt turn on outside water yet), but its really clean and supposedly just had a tune-up.

I had to replace a broken bolt that took some elbow grease, but definitely worth the $$ saved. These go for $400+ easily in good running condition.

Hey Joe, you bought yourself an Evinrude '66. great motor and price.. the parts are half the cost of other manufacturers as well.

Joe, you bought exactly what I've been looking for the last couple years!  I have a 3.3 merc that I love and will keep (especially at 28lbs), but I really want an old 2-stroke 8-10hp so the kids and I can do a little water sports here and there.  Let us know how it goes!

Well I've got two 9.5hp motors now! I tried to replace that bolt myself, but its beyond my time or experience level right now, so I found another 9.5hp Johnson from a local dealer that is 100% ready to run for $400, and I'm gonna sell the blue one.

Or, I can run them both and have twins! LOL

And no dice on the dinghy ride today, work & life are already conspiring against my boating season! Its ok though, I'll have more time on Friday to get it all setup and its supposed to be 70*.
