Fuel prices

So I've been looking at fuel prices around the western basin of Lake Erie and have noticed everything from $3.33 to $4.59 for non-ethanol gasoline. Mind you this is a rough look at places with in 50 miles of my Marina and it got me curious on what every one else is seeing/paying. 90 - 92 octane is most every thing around here

I filled at our marina (Camas, WA) last week for 3.99.9 per gallon.

The Main Exchange

Anacortes, WA $3.62 non-ethanol.

The Chevron across the street is under 2.80.
I forgot to fill before we put the boat in the water!
If not for the ethanol, it'd almost be worth it to pull the boat when time to fill again

Well, on the south river of the Chesapeake I've seen from $2.83/gal to $3.40/gal, all ethanol gas mid-grade.

If I was worried I couldn't afford gas I would have got a smelly Diesel LOL. It's only money and I can't take it with me. Besides as much pleasure as I get from my boat money well spent.

Well, in Toronto I'm probably paying close to $4.7 US per gallon. Mostly taxes.

Found clear gas on Sunday still at $2.99 in Seattle area. Avg price on water around $3.25.

Premium Non-Ethenol on the Columbia River in Southeastern WA. about $3.50/gal.  Premium 15% Ethonol for cars in the same area about $2.65/gal.

Here is the trade off.   Diesel is more expensive (at least around here in NJ) than gas, by quite a bit.  Although, you probably get better mileage out of a diesel powered boat, it will not make up the difference in the price. Longevity of the motors and available torque is really the only true benefit to diesel.  Because we all know that initial cost is usually way more than gas.

Dont compare diesel prices on land because they are way less at the marina at least where I boat. 2.59

I would give my left ear lobe to pay 2.69 for my diesel trucks.
But...the older ones get 27 mph on the freeway.

You might get better mileage with Diesels but the boat is slower so it takes you longer to get from point A to point B. There for it burns the same.......lol
