@SeaHareI just paid $1,256.00 for my Seadek for my 280. Deck and swim platform. Which is the faux teak mocha over camel and I will be installing yourself. Looks like dealers mark this stuff up big time
Thanks, I would be installing myself too (how hard could it be sticking down a big sticker) If i could do it all for around $1500ish that would be cool

Just be careful. There are different thickenesses. I could have got half the thickeness for a lot less money. But I agree there is markup.
No, do you see No 4 on the pdf, it has a half round shape cut out. There's a step there. It's to help you step up onto the gunnel and onto a pier. It's right between the back transom door and the storage compartment under the sink. Look at the pick below, it's oval.
It's not on the template I created because I didn't ask for it. You will need to add that if you want it.
One thing I want to add is I was lazy. I had a dealer do everything from make up the templates on my boat to clean and install. So I'm positive there's a good $500 or more of labor in my charge. There's also a bit of extra shipping charges brining the product into Canada. Then there's our 13% tax. Love that.
@06Rinker270 you are correct. You take out the snap that are screwed into the floor (if you have any) and then fill them (5200 3M). Wash and clean the deck/swim platform and wipe it down with a cleaner right before you install it to remove any left over wax and dirt.
The SeaDek is glued down (in fact it has a 3M backing, you peel off protective layer and apply it to your deck. Yes fill in snap screw holes with 5200.
It doesn't stain very easy. It's easy to wash. I would suggest don't scrub a section of it hard, just use a normal bristle brush. Scrubbing a small section hard with a cloth can make it look a little faded. But it's pretty easy to take care of. I just bring my hose right into my cockpit now and spray everything down. Because it doesn't absorb water, you can do that and everything dry in less than an hour.
A member of my marina had the gray colored Sea Deck installed. It looked fantastic but what really caught my attention was the difference in heat retention. His boat gets direct sunlight most of the day. We find that the interiors having "brown" Sea Deck get much warmer than the lighter colors but the swim platforms that have the lighter colors are substantially cooler than the "brown" colors. I have stepped onto the "brown" colored decking that have been exposed to Sun for a length of time and found them uncomfortable hot. Sea Deck acknowledges this in their literature......... just an opinion fwiw.
MT, you sure are correct on that. There are several people we raft up with that has it on their platforms. They have to keep them wet to stay cool. Very hot on the feet when going across platforms.
