Head winterize

I am going to winterize the head on my 342 this week. I have a Jabsco self priming pump. Should I disconnect hose and pump anti freeze thru system or just pour anti freeze into toilet and flush?
Does anyone have video on how this is done? This is my first time winterizing.

As far as I know my mechanic pours "red pop" down the bowl and flushes.  Same for the shower, they pour it in until the stuff comes out the side.

I hire out all the winterize tasks because I know I don't know what I'm doing.  If this is your first time you may want to get someone local to walk you through it.  You have the A/C, Ice Maker, fresh water, genny, engines, etc. to winterize.

You will need to close your seacock and disconnect hose from there and pump pink thru.  This will winterize the line that feeds water into the head as well.  Once you draw pink into toilet, fill it twice and flush.  This should allow pink thru the rest of the system to your waste tank.  Hopefully you pumped out your waste tank first.

At my marina they drain the fresh water tank and pour a couple of gallons of pink "non toxic" anti freeze into it. Then all taps, the toilet, the fresh water wash down, the shower in the head, the transon shower are all run until they spit red. This circulates the "red pop" through both holding tanks, the hot water tank, all pumps and sumps, all taps and sinks and the ice maker lines. In the spring the fresh water tank is filled and dumped, then filled half full and I add a cup of bleach, fill it full and dump it again then I fill it up for use. The hot water tank is filled with fresh water and dumped too.

Kingsqueen, should not need to remove the hose but Just add some pink to the bowl and flush a few times (if you have the manual pump that draws from the lake), once you're out of the water. Some like to add pink down to the seacock and close it for the winter.  Others like to leave it open and dry.

Also jealous of Handy's setup.  I was just winterizing today, yuk!

Don't forget to pour some pink in the shower sump.
