That was when I plugged into the grey RCA. When I plug into the correct RCA I get zero sound. Looking like after all this I will just end up having to replace it. Well if a anything positive comes form all this I gained a ton of knowledge about marine stereos form everyone and that is priceless. I always like to try and fix something rather than to just toss it away and get new. At some point you just gotta be smart and cut your losses. One last attempt this weekend.
I still yet to smash the radio for you all but I will. Replaced the unit and got everything to work...awesome. But I am having issues with my amp keeping power and it's because of this this black box, what is it?
That is a relay... The blue wire coming from the radio is the "amplifier turn-on lead"... Honestly, that is a ghetto-a$$ way of getting power to the amplifier. Should have a separate 6 or 8awg wire ran directly to battery(with fuse/breaker at battery).
Yes the blue wire is the one that keeps falling out and giving me trouble. This set up is what was with my old system and I just plugged and played with the new clarion head unit. I will rewire with new harness that came with new head unit.
