So how does the dual pick up fully solve the problem? I understand that you need water flowing through the outdrive to cool it. How does water flow through the outdrive after the through transom fitting closes up due corrosion?
@MD: I had to replace the raw water hose that goes from the outdrive bellhousing through the transom.
Thanks BD! Was the replacement needed due to the common corrosion issue that collapses the hose? If so, what do you do about the corrosion? I see people saying that they replace the hose but don't address the corrosion so it seems like the corroded area is able to accept a new hose.

I suspect ot was not put in right, was new last year. The new part has a rigid plastic part now to prevent that.
