Its amazing how doing a few small things can make the boat look SO much better. Put in stainless LED lighted cupholders , to replace the cheap plastic crap, and new speakers, to replace the old white Sonys. To-Do list is getting smaller!
It wasn't too bad, biggest was cleaning up the old 4200 I assume held the old ones in. I used a razor blade to trim away as much as possible, then a butterscotch wheel(trim wheel) on a drill to get the rest. Got old ones out by carefully sticking small flathead screwdriver under edge, and then pulling up.....be careful not to chip finish.
Got em here.....he posts them for 15 every once in awhile
Oh sorry didn't see that.....Just wired the 4 upper together, and the 2 lowers together at the back, and teed them all to one set of wires. They have fairly long wires on them, so you can wire them next to each other. This is ran up to the helm, where I'll tie into the 2 there. Then I'll either hook them to the unused acc. switch or maybe the lower courtesy lights. I have to try them at night first to see how bright they are. If too bright I'll wire them to the acc. switch so they won't blind me at night under way.
@BMXZ I HAVE to forget what I spend. Thank goodness I'm starting to forget these things LOL...unfortunately I married a younger Admiral whose memory is waaay too good!
BTW isn't having lit drink holders a safety enhancement (while moored of course)....tell the Admiral it will help keep drinks off the carpet and upholstery.....it will actually SAVE money....yeah, that's it.....it will pay for itself in no time!
Looks great! I switched from the crappy stock plastic to stainless cup holders last year and that made a huge difference, I can only image how much of an impact those LED ones will have, especially at night.
