I've had this material in the cabin and the floor of the bathroom for several months and I really can't complain. Nothing seems to stain it, super easy to maintain and pretty durable.
Next step is to order pieces for the platform and the cockpit but I don't think I'll be gluing them down. My thought was to glue them to a waterproof backing material and adding snaps so I can pull it up when I want. Same idea as marine mat.
Daze, agree with ya on the replacement of carpet, maybe we can get them to make the parts with a rubber backing and snaps installed. Now all we need is drawing of cockpit carpet. Maybe someone has it. Like the swim platform.
@DazeOff, After contacting Helen about putting snaps in EVA sheet here is her response. I sent her a picture of snaps. Still need to fine drawing of cockpit sea-deck for 270.
Dear Randy,
After checked the photo, our engineer said that we can't put the snap on the EVA pad, the EVA is easy to broken.
So, we think 3M glue is still suitable for EVA foam.
If you don't want 3M glue on the back, we can make the eva pad without glue.
@randy56 My thought was to order it with the 3m and use it to attach it to a carpet backing that would increase strength and rigidity which should hold snaps. similar to what marine mat does.
