so my Air Conditioner stopped working between yesterday and today. It felt rather weak on the cooling last night too. No water pump running, fan runs, no compressor running. You can hear the reversing valve switching from raising/lowering the temp setting. 

Power in is good. No power going to the compressor or water pump from the controller. No error codes at the Passport II controller. Any ideas?

I am shooting in the dark, Is there a hard start compressor capacitor?   Is it passing power?

I'm guessing the cylinder at the top is the starting capacitor. Odd no water pump power tho.

Hardest part was running new thermostat wire

A guy on our dock replaced his 16,000 btu unit this summer and got it from a place in California for $900 delivered. Don't remember which brand but I can ask him when I see him next. I don't believe he has to changeout his thermostat.

I would assume that there is a relay somewhere. Maybe its bad.... Also what is that red light that is lit? Is that an error light?

The red light is a power light. With no power out to the water pump or the compressor it must be the thermostat or the controller board?  The Passport II is obsolete, the replacement needs a new board too at $600. Half way to a whole new unit. It was not cooling well I thought the other night and it has not been sounding good either. Tempted to just replace it after 13 years.

Old wire was an RJ6. New wire is a 4 pin

I had the old unit out and new one in and plumbed up in 45 min. Even AL couldn't do that

The new ones are so much better with the fiberglass style drain pans.  @handymans342 I'm at Spring cove right now thru tomorrow.  could not ask for better weather!

Handy, so the new model AC has more wires than old one, and by the way how do you get foot prints off ceiling, it was a good weekend.

Randy....your boat is called Knot My Problem? What makes you think the footprints on your ceiling are our problem? LOL.....just kidding! Worth it though, right?

The thermostat has 2 less wires. Everything else is the same. I don't know how to remove female foot prints.

Got my new Marinaire 16k btu ac in and running. Pretty close to drop in. Significantly quieter than the original unit. Love the humidity set point too.

Your old unit didn't have a humidity setting? My does and it was older. Glad its up and running.

I do hate the noise when the compressor turns on,but she works good pan is shot though.
