Thanks A TON for this!  I upgraded to a bluetooth headunit and decided to just leave my remotes alone, not functioning.  I couldn't determine where the remote wiring was running to replace.  I will definately be using this in the spring to bring them back to life!

I don't know if anyone has suggested a FM transmitter. If all you want is to be able to play your music from your phone or ipod. Cost under 20 bucks and works perfect. If you want to upgrade the whole system you're looking up to 1k for a system that will last you.
