    Anyone else with the political backround of Hillary Clinton would have won, I believe the public does not trust her ( not that you can trust any politician ). Maybe if the democratic party had chosen Bernie Sanders, the outcome would have been different. We know there were members of the republican party that openly did not back Trump, but there must have been more members of the democratic party that secretly did not back Clinton. 

    The people wanted a change from the same type of president we have always had, so they elected Obama. Now the people wand a change from politicians in general, so they elected Trump.

    .......and that is why I LOVE the USA. Sh*t happens in every country but what I like about the USA is that everyone has their say - the dust settles - and Americans do their best to unite. I predict that there may be some road bumps (like any other country and fewer than most) but that a huge re-building process is about to begin that will create a very real jump in the economy 6 months or so from now.

    Thank you Ray and the other Moderators for beeing very generous on this forum by allowing we members to talk about the election a bit.

    On the cancer forum I am also on, the discussion started to get out of hand pretty quickly (Democrat VS Republican) on a personal level that did NOT happen here....on the cancer forum the comments that were argumentative and aggressive were removed, the individual posters were warned and we were all told that the forum would not allow religious or political debate. The topic was wiped.

    On this forum I find the contributors are always much more respectful of each others' opinions - nevertheless I wish to thank our Rinker Moderators for allowing us some leeway during this history-making time.

    political affiliation aside, I hope everyone in this country realizes when they look at Trump, they're just seeing a reflection of themselves- akin to a mirror... same with Clinton... Same with Obama, Bush, WClinton and the patriarch Bush... they wouldn't be where or what they are if it wasn't for us being where and what we are. 

    this is what we ARE.... if you don't don't like it, change it.  everyone should be on a perpetual mission of self improvement.  it sure wouldn't seem that way after the last fifteen to eighteen months.  THAT can be changed, too.
