270 Fv arch mounted nav light (could not find an answer on the forum)

Replacing the arch mounted nav light with a new one. Both the old and new have three wires. I know one wire is for nav, one wire for anchor and one ground.  However the old one was wired with both light wires tied together so that they both worked when the switch was on.  Also according to the wiring diagram in my owners manual, it show only two wires to that light. So my question is: is the light mounted at the swim platform the aft nav light?  If so it seems very low to be a stern nav light.  And why does my dash switch say "nav/anchor"?  Is my arch light wired incorrectly?

On mine the arch lite is the anchor lite and it work's when switch is on anchor. And when on nav. It's been to long since looking at wiring to remember.

My 280 is wired the same way as an all around light. Since it is an all around light, you don't need to run with a transom light, but I run with it on anyways.

The light on top of arch(anchor light) works when the NAV/ANCHOR switch is thrown in either direction.  When NAV/ANCHOR switch is in NAV position the anchor light and the red/green navigation lights and your gauges/switches illuminate. When the switch is in the ANCHOR position, just the anchor light will Illuminate(keeps battery drain to a minimum while anchored overnight).

Merc, where did you get your nav light?  Just found out mine is broken.

Issues with mine too. Had the light on arch replaced with LED next time we went out the transom light didn't work.  Purchased a new LED transom light and need to get it in as soon as out of storage. Are they wired together through the arch?

My transom light is wired separate from arch anchor lite, it has it's own switch.

I've just bought a replacement LED Anchor light as spoken about above. I the new one only has 2 wires but the old one has 3. How would I wire it?

My transom light is also wired to it's own switch, not part of the nav lights.
My arch light had three wires, the two light wires were tied together.  When I put the switch in the Nav position the forward nav lights (port & star) and the arch light came on.
When I put the switch in the anchor position, only the arch light came on, not the forward nav lights.  So My arch light is wired correctly with both light wires tied together and the dash switch (Nav switch) determines which lights come on.
    Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if either the light head or post can be rotated on this light? The orientation for the holes are wrong for me to mount in the existing holes on my arch. The base on my original one is starting to crack.

CLGMarine sells one on Amazon that rotates in the proper way. About 50$.

    Thanks @mbnarney
I found some other pictures of it and it has a pop rivet that can be removed.. This one is on sale for $95 on Amazon. I like the metal base, hopefully it fits the original holes, if not I’ll get the drill out!

Take a look at this! Was posted on Qualified Captain. Why would they even make something like this available!! I know the light up VHF antenna was posted not too long ago also.

Got the light removed the rivet and rotated it in the correct orientation. I sealed the seam to prevent any water getting in when I seal it to the arch. It even has a cutout for my wifi antenna wire. It will fold left or right instead of forward and back which works better for me as it will be out of the way when I have the arch down.

Got it installed this morning. Had to drill one hole since the base was slightly larger than the old one. ⚓️

    @TonyG13 it’s a WiFi extender antenna.
