lol @davidbrooks I lived in ND for 4 years, had my fill of that kind of weather. I have said it before, if I lived up north don't think I'd bother to even have a boat, sounds like a lot of work to me...

It's a major bust for NYC, Long Island and Coastal NJ...   even Coastal CT isn't going to get anywhere NEAR 20 inches... not that 10 inches is anything to be dissapointed in... but BLIZZARD of 2017?? WEAK!!!

I'm a little heated because this may have kept my flight out of white plains on.. now I'm leaving the house the same time for a later flight and paying more for transportation AND it's usually more expensive to fly out of White Plains because of its location and is Jetblue giving any partial refunds? don't think so..

It wasn't a bust in northwest CT. I just spent hours cleaning up the mess. It ended up being about 24 inches. It stopped about 2 hours before it was supposed too. I thought we would see almost 30 inches.

yeah, but that's what the models were saying Monday afternoon, the NWS just decided to not tell anyone about it.  It completely shifted in a 2 hour time span from the coast getting clobbered to NWCT/NY state getting nailed. They decided they didn't want to confuse people! It's not their job to decide things like that, it's their job to report the facts and the facts only!

Those storms are kind of like hurricanes here- 25 miles more inland or out to sea can make all the difference in the world.

Here is the problem with what happened yesterday. We only got about 5" of snow then it tuned into very heavy rain. Got very cold overnight and we now have about 5 or 6" of solid ice. What a mess...........
