I knew a guy that was repairing his stringers and screwed his boat to the trailer bunks, no joke. He couldn't figure out why it would not back off the trailer.
My first boat, a 60's era 14 foot chrysler, had a rotted floor. I took a circular saw and cut out the old floor, leaving an inch in the side to screw the new floor to. As soon as I launched it, it began sinking. I vever checked the depth of the blade, and cut two slices right through the hull in the front about 24 inches long. And that's how I learned to do fiberglass repairs!!
two t hings: first, had seen this post and skipped over it but that is some funny stuff. Second, one of the reasons this is such a great forum is we can ask the stupid questions and admit the stupid mistakes and all have a laugh! That one I hope for the owners sake is a photo shop!
