I have an 06 270 that was purchased and sea trialed last year. My max rpm was 4210 on that sea trial which I was told was too low, the highest rpm ever recorded on the engine was 4626, but the boat was given a new outdrive by the original owner as it had come with the xdp composite drive. I was told the max rpm was too low and tried several things throughout last year trying to get the performance up but was unable to. After reading all this I’m starting the believe when the new outdrive was installed that the props were not properly matched with the vessel. They are the F3 duoprop but I’m unable to determine the pitch from looking at them. Can anyone tell? Photos of front and rear are attached.
Looks like VP likes to approach it in terms of the alpha number as it relates to engine type and outdrive type rather than pitch of the prop. Kind of irritating.
