Forum Value - Comments, Modifications and Value
You may remember that the owner of the 78 Fleming I met in Aruba said it was his opinion that the Rinker Forum was the most authoritative boating forum in the world.
That got me thinking. I thought I'd crunch some numbers. So I added up the number of posts from JUST the top 10 "all time" posters awarded points (thank you to all from us!) on this forum.
Are you ready.....32,158 posts as of now.
But that's NOT my point. That number is from JUST the top 10 - the posts that are displayed on the activity section of the forum.
Can you imagine the total number of posts that have been made by ALL of the excellent Forum Members?????
My favourite part of all of this is the new members that are continually joining and adding awesome new ideas and mods.
Geez @diggin2day1 is on fire lately with all of his creative mods.
Then there are the tech wizards like @Alswagg with his endless knowledge of all things mechanical and @212rowboat with technical details and performance criteria that rival a NASCAR team!
I agree that is, absolutely the best forum in the world.

But seriously, interesting observation by MT.
Go Steelers!!!
We had a good group of boaters and lots of events. It was like having a club without the formal organization. And it was a big reason my wife and I became avid boaters versus boat owners.
IMO one of the greatest values of a forum like this is the wealth of knowledge and experience available to anybody just by asking.
Thanks @Michael T for mentioning this.

I sure do remember that so well Raybo. @Stodge, we had the huge loss of RBO and just so fortunate that we were picked back up by Rinker. I think it was a true blessing in disguise!
@reneechris14 - you are so right!! People actually learn on this forum and attempt things they normally wouldn't have. This learning goes on to build true confidence in working on the boat, enjoying it, and saving money!

Pretty impressive by all of you!

In a recent BoatUS article about obstacles that prevent millennials from getting into boating, the author observes that millennials are less likely to have experience operating and fixing mechanical things. "While our parents' generation spent their teens rebuilding old cars, we spent our time building websites."
If I contribute something on the forum that helps a young person get into boating, or enjoy it more, that's a win-win.
