    Update on this system after two years:  The TCL Roku TV seems to have died.  It would make sound but no picture.  After trying various resets that I found on the web, I replaced it.  At some point, I'll open it up and look for a blown fuse.

    What did you replace it with? Was it a DC tv?

    Same model (TCL 1080p Roku TV).  I found an open-box deal at a local Best Buy.  I didn't want to change anything about cables or mounts ... just a drop-in replacement.

    It runs on AC power, but I have a little inverter to power it.

    Do you leave the inverter connected at all times?

    No, the panel with the HDMI connector has a switch for the inverter.
