I use a 12volt Road Mate hot pot, heat the water then use instant coffee. It's easy and makes no mess. Not scalding hot but still does the trick for me in the morning.
I do like that cup of Joe am
.. We are always sitting on shore power...this summer I'm going on the hook and it might just be by myself which I don't have a problem with...maybe my brother. Problem if fl where I boat there is a bit of fear of jumping in the water- pretty remote so your kind of stuck on the boat in my admirals opinion. For me, perfect place to be stuck!
I got a 242, no generator and not always and do early morning fishing... gotta have good coffee. Peculators work well, but take a long time.
We ended up using a solution from our backpacking gear... Jetboil, one minute boiling water, it comes with a coffee press but we use a separate french press. Done in no time and off to the fishing grounds
Went with a GasOne dual fuel ( butane or propane ) portable stove to use with our camping perculator. May look into the french press later, I have heard some very good things about them.
