Horizon 600 windless

I have a 2008 280 and the control arm on the Horizon 600 Windless was not working so I fond one on eBay. Does any one know how to replace it so the tension on the spring is placed correct?

My arm was not pressing down like it should, I removed it and the spring and greased the spring with some sae 30 I had on hand, then put back together. All good for 3 seasons

The control arm spring doesn't have a lot of tension - I though mine was bad and swapped for a new one, and $50 later it's nearly identical in feel and operation. Going to need a new rode soon.
