Soon to be back on the water....

Of course, I have to make it forum official - we'll soon be back on the water. I made a deal on @gtyee 's 2013 310EC, which was originally @Michael T 's. As anyone on here already knows - both these guys are very meticulous and take pride in their toys. My family and I made the trip to Chicago to meet Mike and his wife last weekend. It was a pleasure meeting them - they are great people! Survey is scheduled for Tuesday (easy survey for the surveyor!). The boat is absolutely beautiful with all the premium upgrades. We can't wait to get her here! We were scheduled to go see a Chaparral 330 in North Carolina, when Mike messaged me! So glad he did, and so glad we get to stay with the Rinker family. One of the reasons I like to stay with Rinker is this forum - everyone here is always helpful and very knowledgeable! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

PS - If anyone knows of a trailer for sale that would hold a 310 - send the info my way, if you would! At our boat club, the boats sit on trailers in a storage building for the winter. Will need to purchase one for this winter.

    • Fantastic! The boat was handled OCD careful from minute one by me. @gtyee added even more options and treated it with OCD care too. Congratulations on purchasing a boat "optioned-right": T - 350 Mags, DTS, Blll Axius (on the helm) Diamante Frost..........

@jbschmalz23 I don't know, if this will work for you? since you are not in need to travel with it, yard trailer.

Wow! That’s a nice heavy duty trailer! I’ll have to check that one out!

That's a nice looking trailer!  It may almost hold the next boat too, especially if it's MT's 360! :)

You have a good point there! I think it would. When @bry1429 sells the 360 I have to buy it, of course. Lol.

Today was finally the big day! The 310 I bought from @gtyee was delivered today!! Absolutely love this boat. Docking with the axius was so much fun! We couldn’t have bought a boat in better shape! Mike was meticulous with every aspect of this thing. It was a pleasure getting to meet Mike and his wife when we went to sea trial the boat. He made the transport process so easy as well. It’s difficult being 8 hours away from where th boat was. He had it all prepped and ready for shipping. Every moving part was buttoned down and ready, and prepped the equipment on the hard top. We spent this evening getting all the equipment back on the hard top and will give her a bath tomorrow, and will be ready for the weekend! The surveyor even noted, “you will not find a boat closer to new than this one!” We love it and the 310 layout. Now, time to enjoy the water again!!!  😎

Nice first cruise from the BYC to Marietta. I was down past the BYC last week and looked for the black beauty, but it obviously wasn't there yet. Congrats on a sweet looking boat!

@nhsd, We launched at the Williamstown public ramp and cruised to the BYC yesterday. Spent the evening getting the radar etc all put back on. We will be out this weekend if the weather holds up! Flag me down if you see us. Would love to meet a fellow forum member. My wife is anxiously waiting to eat at the boat house so we can enter from the water this time! Lol.

Beautiful boat. If/when you make it to Pittsburgh, we will have to meet up. One of these summers, we are going to get down your way. Marietta is on our bucket list.

From the pictures - you will notice where Rinker installed the Axius joystick on JB's EC 310 (on the upper helm) where IMO it should be! That is why I asked Randy (Rinker) to put the Axius Joystick on the EC360 I ordered on the upper helm too - thanks Randy for doing it! Best place ever for docking!

jbschmalz23, Unfortunately I probably will not be back down and out on the river for a while (maybe not until Labor day). Summer vacation weeks are over and the paying job is requiring my attendance...  :(:(

That boat is as close to new as you'll find, waxed, detailed, oil changed every 30 hours. We hope you and your family enjoy this boat as much as we did, we miss it already! After looking at 6 different used Carver C37's from 2015-2017 I'm amazed at how poorly some people take care of there boat, but will continue to look til I find the right one.

    Waxing and detailing is good
but changing oil every 30hrs? Lol

a very nice boat in great condition =  wondering = have the owners actually done the work keeping it this nice or has it been paid to do = which is ok either way = just my curiosity
  • jbschmalz23jbschmalz23 Member Posts: 219 ✭✭✭
@gtyee did all the normal maintenance himself, and @Michael T previously owned it and serviced himself as well I believe.  Both very meticulous guys, and both forum members. You can tell by their posts, they are both OCD, lol, and the boat shows it!  My surveyor mentioned this was a close to a new boat, that was used, he had ever seen. @Michael T followed the break in period instructions per Mercs specifications. I plan to continue the normal service myself as well, unless it’s something that requires a mechanic. It’s nice to be a member of this forum, you can follow a boats entire history.

Congrats Josh! I'm ready to buy it from you in 3 years. ;-)

@Dude_Himself , It’s a nice cycle! Lol. I just need to get @bry1429 to sell @Michael T old 360 about that time, we’ll just keep rotating!
  • jbschmalz23jbschmalz23 Member Posts: 219 ✭✭✭
And, @Dude_Himself , I’m really surprised at what the twin 350s burn in the 310. If I remember in the 280 with the 496, I burned like 17 or 18 gph from what the VV read, cruising around 25mph. With the 350s I was only burning a few more gph cruising at about 25mph. Am I remembering right with the 280 numbers?
