Water from Shower into Salon

Hello everyone, I am "hopefully" a soon to be 2004 342 FV owner, however during the sea trial, there were some issues found, some minor, but one specifically an "indoor" plumbing issue. The water from the shower did not drain into the shower pump, but seems to be seeping from under the shower floor into the salon, behind/adjacent to the steps.  Not sure if this is a hose failure and if so, how do I access the hose? Could clog drain cause water seepage into the salon? Any schematics of the shower discharge system available.  Thanks for any help offered.

    The shower sump is located in the mid-berth, on the port side under the cushions.  If the lid is loose, or the box is damaged it can leak.  I had a similar problem with mine and had to replace the sump.  Not major.

    Agree with Stodge, likely the pump is not working so the water had nowhere to go

    The sump I got had the same pump as the original, which has decided that it's too much effort to turn on.  I just got a replacement atwood pump for it.  

    @zaverin1 is right, they are fairly generic.

    You might want to tape up the shower drain and fill some water in the basin to make sure the enclosure isn't leaking

    I put in a brand new box and pump a few seasons ago when I bought the boat, same pump that Renee mentioned. For whatever reason for the first shower of the year I have to pull the pump out of the box and re shove it in a couple of times to get things flowing. Now I just run water in the shower to get things going, after that it works awesome for the entire summer, we take several showers every weekend in there, just that first prime of the year needs some attention....

    I have the same problem.  I got a check valve to put in the discharge line but haven't gotten to it.

    I had a leak as well but it was the plumbing, not the drain.  It was running underneath the shower and wicking into the carpet in the mid-berth storage.

    I was able to just buy the lid for mine. If you know what model sump you have I’m sure you can do the same. Much cheaper than replacing the entire sump assembly.

    @aero3113 , no but I am going to the boat as soon as the little one is picked up. I bought a screen for the hatch I am hoping works and I will take a picture then.

    @cls10105 , I was hoping for it to be the same as the one I have, but it’s different. Maybe look for a model number printed in the box.

    It looks like that cover screws on, that might help with finding the correct one.

    I definitely have seen those on lots of the older model Rinkers, but most new ones have the clip lids now.  I can't say I've seen the lids for them for sale.

    I had the screw on top type in my Bayliner.  Actually like that better.  Had to replace snap on lid on Rinker last year too because the fins snapped off.  The new on is so tight, I expect them to snap soon too.

    @cls10105 I would think that one would work fine.  Rule makes good products.  Just make sure it will fit in the area and you have a way to mount it (or that mounting it is similar to what you have).  As for clip on or screw on lids, I've never had issues with the clip on ones.  I access mine maybe twice or three times a year to clean it out and been fine so far with the original one (from 2008) still installed.

    @Dream_Inn, ok thank you sir. It looks like it would fit. Why I didn’t measure is beyond me. I took pictures. Lol. We are the process of switching marinas and taking down lights and get my box and stuff. Anyways it was too much for my little brain. I am going this week to make the move. So I will measure it then.
