Marine Mat or Seadek

Good evening everyone. We are looking at installing Seadek or Marine mat on our 2007 300EC. Swim platform first then cockpit this winter. What are your experiences with these products, how have they lasted, have the edges lifted? Looking forward to hearing back, thank you.

  • You can order Marine Mat snap in faux teak and other colors directly through Rinker. They have your template on file.  Let me know if you would like pics, I’m very pleased with mine , the edges are bound with black binding giving a very finished look

I wonder if they have the swim platform on file for my 2008 280EC. I might consiter going that route since it is much easier then templating the platform.

  • I've had Seadek on my swim platform for 4 or 5 years and in the cockpit for 1 year. The swim platform has held up very well and I'm very happy with Seadek. I think that they are both good products and you won't go wrong with either one.

I had it on my old boat. It was great, had it for 2 seasons before I sold it. Never lifted on the edges, but that's because of a good install. Need deck cleaned and use acetone to make sure any gunk is off. After that peel backing and stick on, get it right first time and it should stick for a long time. The backing I believe is 3M.

I put in MarineMat last year and love it - and when comparing them I preferred it over SeaDek. See my post here in response to @TonyG13 's post and photos with some of my own

I used PlasDeck it worked very well too.

Had rack lift drag an anchor over the swim platform. Was able to sand out the scar & run a heat gun over it. Came out perfect.

  • I love this stuff and was thinking about putting it on my boat as well however the big question for me is what happens if it gets damaged or you need to replace it it seems to me like after you pull let up there will be a great big mess of all that adhesive on your deck
  • @icoultha did you get your boat scanned and how is the marine mat holding up? We may go with it as it seems to be similar to SeaDek but a lot less cost.

@Aqua_Aura I wonder how much just the swim deck would cost. If you don't mind me asking, how much was your entire boat for SeaDek?

The entire kit was $1677 plus shipping which was like $75 from Florida to Washington. I would assume the swim deck might be around $600. If you email them you can ask for just the swim deck price and reference drawing M-RNR-19999

Thank you. That is a good price for SeaDek.
