Wow the boat and the kids are having fun. I really admire you, looking at this new Rinker. I don't know what model it is. Can you give me some information about this boat, bro?

Welcome to the forum @ATXyachtgirl The older 310s are a great boat!  Our prior boat was a 2002 310 and really loved that boat!  It looks great with the bimini off and that arch!

@Dream_Inn - Thank you! We love the boat. Use it for yacht chartering on Lake Travis & always get great feedback from clients. I have a question for you: Do you know if Rinker issues stability letters for these boats? Game warden's now requiring this for our inspection process... the yacht certification plaque isn't sufficient.... Having trouble getting in touch with Rinker to ask this question....

If I remember my USCG Auxiliary days, Stability Letters are required for "Inspected" Vessels. Basically bigger passenger ships, cruise ships, etc.

You are probably operating under a USCG "six-pack" license? That would be an "Uninspected Passenger Vessel" (UPV) -- which is any vessel usually under 100 gross tons carrying six or fewer passengers for hire.

USCG Auxiliary can do UPV inspections, but I believe only USCG can do "Inspected Vessels."

I would go back to the Game Warden and ask him for a copy of the written regulations for guidance. They should provide you with better guidance.

@ATXyachtgirl - Just looked at the Texas "Party Boat" page...

    https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/boat/laws/party_boat/

Lots of info. Looks like if you can get a six-pack inspection from the USCG Auxiliary, that should suffice (IMO):

"The annual water safety inspection is not required for a vessel carrying passengers for hire that has a Certificate of Inspection (COI) issued by the US Coast Guard. The COI is required for those vessels that operate on navigable (federal) waters by definition. If a vessel has such a document (required annually by the USCG), then a State COI is not required."

You may want to contact the local Coast Guard Auxiliary unit and ask if they have a certified inspector. I think this is one of the local flotillas:

Can someone tell me the name of the windless that comes on a 2003 Rinker 270 FV, I am trying to figure out how to manually release mine.  It worked one day and now its stuck up and will not go down.  I think its up to tight.  Can't find any buttons on the windless itself or a name.

Nick, that would be a Lewmar 600. No longer made or supported but you can search online. The 700 is the replacement

    Hi Rinkers,
I have a 2006 Rinker 270EC, Do you think this size of vessel meets the USCG 5GRT minimum requirements?
It is 30' LOA. But actual dimension is only 27'long, 9.1 wide and 3.8 Depth.
    please advise.
    Thank you all.
