  Is there power to the unit? Need power to eject.

  I put a blu-ray player in that spot since it wasn't being used.

  If you remove the stereo you can reach the CD changer.  I want to say there were some screws coming up from underneath the player.  It was a pain to get out, but newer stereos make it pretty useless. 
  
  I got a stereo with a cd player and USB inputs.  I use an iPod with it, but could use a thumb drive.

  Look up the manual. There should be an over ride to get the CD cassette out.

  There isn't an override because there could be a CD loaded.  I'm afraid without dissembling the case you won't get the cartridge out without damaging something
