    I haven't ever gotten to eat fresh gator.  Highs here are now in the 70s and lows in the 50s, it feels like fall. Its going to be a long miserable winter.

    As I said before we have been tossing around the idea of getting a small truck bed camper or trailer. Well it just so happens I have the opportunity to buy a 2005 Winnebago Sightseer I think its the 30B model it has an 8.1 with 65k. Price is atleast 10k below what they sell for as this is coming from family so priced to sell 😆.

    Anyone have any thoughts? Never owned an RV before.

    Most RV systems are the same as boats. Check the tire date codes before you buy. The 8.1 is a fuel hog.

    All the tires and brakes are new. I did see the 8.1 gets less mpg then the standard 6.8 v10 I trust the 8.1 more. Transmission is 4L85e which seems to be good as well. Reading online apparently Winnebago is a really good brand? I have obviously heard of them but this is very far out of my knowledge base.

    Are you thinking maybe some systems may be nearing end of life and maybe needing to upgrade electronics? Looks like the cheapest ones I see are around 25 and most are 30-35. I was told I could get it for 15 as they are picking up there new 40' next week so they don't need the old one. 15 leaves me a lot of room for upgrades and fixes if needed.

    Mostly AC, roof, all the joints around anything on the roof, etc. 
    Does it have a slide out room? Any water leak stains? How is the front end? Ball joints?? Shocks?

    Those two post sum it up perfectly for me. I will look into all of that, just needed a little guidance. It's in California which helps with lack of rain. It does have one slide out.

    I am not sure where they parked it, I haven't been to their house since they purchased it a couple years back. I'll have him do a video call with me and show me everything. Definitely not looking for a project so I'll make sure all the main stuff is solid. I don't mind the small fixes or upgrades.

    Make him hook up the water, electric and run everything. Make sure none of the holding tanks leak. Run generator and run everything on the generator.

    For only 15k that would be a good price point to see if you will use it. or the family even like's it. next year you can make a profit. You have nothing to lose.

    Looks like nice shape for sure. Retirement is coming soon and like Handy we're considering a nomadic RV lifestyle. Probably go 5th wheel however so no extra vehicle needed for grocery runs etc.
    But that does look like a sweet deal.

    That's why we were looking at trailers so we could have a vehicle with us. Anytime I find a decent trailer though it's smaller than this and more if not the same price. We'll probably just buy it cause hey why not. We were gonna rent an RV to go meet my aunt and uncle halfway and that was gonna cost atleast $1200 for the 5 days so it would already save me $1200 right away.

    Yeah saves me about 150-200 in fuel for only having to drive the one way home. Ok Handy I think I may be joining you on the RV thing but I'm still keeping the boat 😆
