My 2006 Rinker 270 Fiesta VEE tilts to starboard side

Hi All,

Happy to join here.

I recently purchased a 2006 Rinker 270 Fiesta VEE - and have noticed that it tilts to starboard side. Both when sailing and in port. I would like to find the reason for this in order to correct it.

Any suggestions?

    Fill the fresh water tank... mine does the same when it needs more water in the tank

    Welcome to the Rinker forum!  

    Weight balance is the key when not underway, but you're saying that she also lists to starboard at cruising speed?  Are you sure the trim tabs are both working correctly?

    J3ff - thanks, I will definitely fill the fresh water tanks and see if it helps. Would be cheep solution to the problem...!
    LaRea - thanks, yes she both leans to starboard in port and at cruising speed. No, I am not sure if the trim tabs are working correctly. Just bought the boat a month ago. How do I check that?

    If it's too cold to swim (where are you?), use your arm or a boat hook to reach down to the tab on each side while somebody runs them up and down.  Make sure they both move the same amount.  Also, check the wake behind the boat at cruise speed.  It should be symmetric port to starboard.

    Be aware left switch operates right tab and right switch the left tab

    my 2005 270 same problem it’s frustrating to have to carry all that water in the holding tank just to make boat level.

    If it sat level with the tank empty then the complaint would be it's leaning with the tank full. Seems to me it would make more sense to have it level when it's full.
