    I think you will start seeing more drive systems like the Volvo IPS. Some people just don't want outboards on their cruiser.

    That would be the way I would configure it. I doubt that I will be faced with that decision any time soon.

    I am so done with I/O's after the current boat. Outboards all the way. Can't get over pulling up a 42 ft boat to the beach in the picture

    @J3ff it draws 33 inches.  A Rinker 420 with the outdrives trimmed up has a draft of only 24 inches, and it has a swim platform big enough for beach volleyball.

    Yeah but you cant trim the outdrives up because mercury made the threw hull oil part plastic!! Eventually it'll break and dump all your outdrive oil into the water and fill your brand new drive with salt water!!! Everytime I turn the drive to the extreme left I have to think about that plastic part that is just waiting to break!!

    Sigh.
