    I did see your waste tank update 💩. Ours is definitely not that bad but we did just flush it out last week at the pump out. I wasn't aware of the tank saver product, sure makes it nice for spraying out.

    I might be going to look at a 2011 Chaparral 270 for my neighbor. Does anyone know if my scan tool with the adapters posted earlier will connect to a mercruiser 8.1 ?

    I'm not sure specifically. But I would recommend going on their website and downloading and flashing an update to the tool prior to heading out. It connects via a USB and the updates will do capabilities for newer engines.

    @davidbrooks , it looks like a special USB is needed to perform the update?

    Actually, it looks like you can do it with a normal USB cord. I just found these instructions.

    It’s really only needed to scan newer engines so it might not be needed. But still, charging that much for an update is crazy!

    You can get the ROM update that is a minor update for free.  The major one is the one that they charge for.  It is only for engines above a specific year so i havent paid for it.  It is nice to know that i can get it on my orignal device though and not need a whole new one.  Yes a regular USB cable works just fine.  I have done it myself.

    Has anyone ever checked or adjust base timing with the Rinda Scan tool?
