2000 270FV Power Trim Pump

I believe I have water in the reservoir of the pump that raises/lowers the lower unit. What are my next steps? I assume drain lower unit and refill the lower unit and the reservoir. Is that the correct thing to do first? Or, is there a way to troubleshoot prior to drain/refill? The boat is on a lift with the lower unit out of the water. Thank you for your help.

    That is the pump for the trim rams, you can disassemble the rams to clean them out.  Maybe you have a leaking line that let water in?

    Yes, nothing to do with the lower unit other that the rams are on it...probably a bad seal...and depending on the water damage, salt vs fresh, I'd say your best bet is to replace them..you might get by a while if it is just one on the lines- if someone had it apart and a fitting is lose I'd tighten it and give it a whirl but be prepared!

    Fairly simple to rebuild the rams it’s a kit ,the lines are a little bit more difficult to do ,as far as getting down inside the boat
