    Great news @mvn !  I had issues two summers ago with a little backfire when getting on plane.  One plug was bad causing the problem.  Replaced all 16 of them.

    Scanner picked up lean condition but the ECM can't detect ignition issues directly.

    Got the boat back in the water yesterday evening.  Starts much easier and the idle is super smooth. Instantly pops up on plane with 2 adults and a full tank of fuel.  55 mph on gps.  The new prop keeps the wot rpm at 5800.

    Amazing what happens when you're firing on all cylinders!

    Time and time again as you found, start with the simple stuff. Mine was doing the same, did New wires, rotor and plugs and wala!

    Hard to believe spark plug failed with so few hours. Glad you got it resolved.
