Starboard Engine stalled wouldn't start gas tank Vapor lock?

Port tank ran out of fuel last trip long trip coming across lake, was feeding both engines 496 Mags from starboard tank read just under 1/2. was running fine. idling at dock warming up engines and starboard engine stalls like it is out of gas.
pulled cool fuel filters and put in new filters. when I opened fuel line to fill bowl in cool fuel thought I heard the gas suck back to tank. couldn't gas gas to flow to prime filter. added gas to both tanks and had to manually prime, once pumps primed everything was fine. added 46 gal to both tanks and ran each engine from its own tank ran great.
Weird problem I will check to make sure starboard tank gas cap is vented.

For sure check the vent and also the anti-siphon valve.

How long did it run at the dock before stalling? When you switched to the starboard tank did you open the cross over valve and shut the port valve tight? Otherwise it would be sucking air from port tank maybe 🤔

Port valve was shut running on starboard tank only.
Both engines ran about 4 minutes before starboard engine stalling.
closed starboard valve changed both filters, then open starboard valve to fill fuel bowl and prime. thats when I heard a sucking sound. It probably pulled the gas all the way back to tank, is my thought.

Do you have a way to check fuel pressure? I always jump to the worse- and sometimes it is. But most of the time it's the basics. Fuel pressure , fire and air. If one of those ain't workin.....

Its all set now hopefully one time deal. Fuel pressures were checked at beginning of season, along with freshly cleaned injectors and fuel lines.

    Great when they fix themselves!
