I installed my in hull yes in hull not thru hull transducer and also ran the wire to the helm. I found a much easier path for wiring which was nice. We have also started replacing a few things that were not very nice looking such as the VHF antenna mount, city water inlet, hatches in the cockpit.
I'll get some before and after photos today but here's the new antenna mount. I need to clean the antennas very well today.
Everything we are replacing is with the new/same version yet non of the holes ever seem to line up 😕. I need to put the bottom screws in on these mounts and also the water inlet needs to be a 1/4" bigger than the current 2 1/2" hole.
Small things but they help the overall feel of the boat being clean. Waiting for the cooler weather and rain on Sunday to wash the boat. I don't like doing it when it's warm and sunny. Less chance of water spots when it's cool and showers.
@LaRea. I think I finally convinced my wife of getting a Maritimo 😊. I absolutely love the m48 however I think I can't pass up the upgrades on the m50. We have a dealer in Seattle that we saw when we bought our 3988. First thing is getting a boathouse when one is available where we are then upgrade the boat.
We love the "skylounge" which is perfect for our differing weather and makes the boat even more of a 4 season boat.
It's a great layout! Let me know when you start shopping for real. We've been making some good friends in the Maritimo corporate family who might be helpful.
I just spent 3 hours washing the outside of the boat and that wasn't even waxing or anything special. Pressure washed everything then used a foam cannon and scrubbed from top down 😴.
We leave in a couple days for a 5 day trip with some fellow boaters.
I replaced this cover while I was in the replacing things with brighter white mood.
I received the new bolts to install my water circulating pumps. Hopefully get them installed tomorrow. Here’s a pic of the part numbers if anyone needs.
I didn’t get to install the new circulating pumps today but got to install the new pulleys on them. I did remove the port side pump today, bolts came off very easily. They definitely weren’t torqued to 30 ft lbs. I was curious and pulled the backing plate off one of the old pumps and was surprised to see the impeller facing inside the pump. I was expecting to see the veins facing out.
Got her out of the storage shed, gave her a power wash, a soft soapy wash and a good bilge power wash as there was a lot of engine gunk in there from a through flushing and winterization ( new member and mechanic I know from another club, does an excellent job). Then hit under the platform and the drives to clear out the remaining zebra mussels. These stick like s&*t to a blanket when wet but blow off easy in spring when dry. An afternoon of buffing the port side, all done as were my shoulders.
While installing them I found a hose on the port engine that was chafing on a bolt. I was able to give it clearance, glad I found it! Pic makes it look a lot worse than it is.
Very impressed with interlux bottom paint. It mixes easily! With one gallon I put a nice heavy coat on, had enough to do two coats at the transom also the sides. Still have enough left to paint when the stands are removed.
How many of you are using chat gbt? I was trying to check some relays and such- what a help..talked me through things I had no idea with a multimeter and when complete, it all made sense- not 100% but very helpful!
I replaced the window slide seals on some of my windows. The bottoms were really bad on the back side windows from water sitting in the channels and getting moss growth and also deteriation.
