@rasbury .... yes and Ford and GM also jointly developed the 10R80 automatic (paddle shifting) transmission used in today's Mustang GTs and yesterday's GM Camaro......Geez I'm talking about cars now - that's how far I've fallen and unlike Cableguy Greg I can't even sleep in mine! :-(
You are 100% correct @Michael T. When we ordered them they were drop shipped to the modifier and then trucked to the dealers. Most modified vehicle plants today are near the plants or at least a rail head so they can go back into the rail system. I did a lot of modified vehicles but again for fleet accounts, not fancy mustangs!
Wasn't tge saleen mostly just a trim package...like king ranch ...? I don't recall those being heavily modified like rosch or shelby...these new ones @Michael T mentioned I've not heard of.
Saleen did some significant renovations that were all sanctioned by Ford, still carried a basic Ford warranty (although supplemented by Saleen), and had Saleen parts available through Ford. Saleen even had a hand in building the rolling chassis and painting for the GT when they were available.
But as mentioned, not on the Ford assembly line
Rinker sold but still have other boats Eastern LI, NY
Absolutely - happens all the time. The 10 speed transmission for f150 was a joint venture with GM so any does not make such investments for nothing.
I own a Ford Ranger that has that same 10 speed transmission, paired with the EcoBoost engine the truck hauls some MAJOR bootay! Very happy with it so far
Friend has the same year Mustang GT as me. He bet me a few beers he could out shift my 10R80 with his 6 speed. Nope, I said - I told him to google some comments. He was adamant. We straight lined it up an on ramp to a 400 series road at about 1 a.m. I did not use the paddles (which are great fun) and let the10R80 do its own thing, it shifts stinkin' fast and holds the revs high. I gapped him no problem. Beer always tastes better when it's free......as for boats I smoked every Sea Ray (sorry to swear) that tried to run my Rinker EC 360 with twin 502s. If you wait long enough stupid will come to you and often bears free beers.
My Dad has a place in Bonita Springs that had 7 foot of water in hurrican Ian. Everything on the 1st floor had to be replaced including garage door & opener. Just discovered this is how they installed the door sensors.
Never would have thought of this. Talked with several people that admitted to having this same set up. This was done by a professional door company. Kind of surprised they would do this.
I did that on my last house too or the neighbour's dog who liked me better than him would keep triggering them. Have seen it done too many times to count. Works great unless someone or a vehicle gets damaged - if so, better get them on the door frames fast. :-)
