I am on the water, tropical cyclone right where I am at, yuk. Having issue with the head- when you pump the toilet to the tank it works fine but then slowly the head fills back up almost like a cyphen- I tried with the switch both ways, same result. Also gurgles like there is pressure - I put in a rebuild kit last year. What is up with this toilet? Does not overflow...

    That's the big rubber valve right there where the hose to the tank connects to the pump? If that's right and I pull that hose off, stuff will run out all over? I am in a marina and don't want an event, although with the waves in this marina, no one would notice. We don't use the head that much, surprised it failed this soon.

    Ras, the only stuff that will run out is what is sitting in the hose (run it a time or two first, so you have just water), which is generally not much.  Joker valve is an easy change out and should be done every other year.

    If there's room in your tank flush the toilet a couple of times (like 5) THEN remove the hose. It is likely that the joker or duckbill valve has some toilet paper stuck in it. I had the same problem when an "idiot" guest despite being asked to only use the marine TP in the head used kleenex. By "pre-flushing" the toilet all that was there was water and the plugged valve. Of course its smart to have a pail and some old rags handy. I also cut a plastic jug in half length way and stuck the hose right into that. Good luck!

    When I changed mine, I flushed about 5 gallons of fresh water. It seemed to make less of a stinky mess.

    Believe it or not but using head lube will help with the life of it considerably. Had 8 years on my last one

    ok- I thanks for all the input- turned out, it was just full! I pumped the dang thing out like 3 weeks ago and I can't figure out how it got full that quickly but it did....should have looked but them I would have missed all the good humor!
