342 anchor locker leak

If anyone has a mystery leak of water to the mid-berth bilge, check your anchor locker. There is a square plate screwed in to cover the access hole to the anchor locker drain thru hull. The plate was poorly sealed on mine. Removed, cleaned and resealed. You have to work thru the access plate behind the mirror but very doable.

Thanks for this, don't have a problem but will check as preventative. So if I understand correctly, water that gets under the v berth from the anchor or ac will channel aft somehow to the bilge under the aft bunk?

Black Diamond, thanks for that info.  Is the small round access plate the only access to the anchor locker?  I have to repair my anchor pulpit and need access to bolts underneath.  Doesn't seam like small access plate is big enough to get up in there.

I could not reach the tie off point on mine. Had to remove the whole front panel

@Handymans342 could you describe the process to remove the front panel? I'm thinking I need to do the same.

Remove the 2 side shelving units. Remove the 2 speakers because there are screws behind them that hold the front panel. The mirror is velcro attached.

I put the rode on the carpeted bed. I also added a 2 foot piece of chain and another buckle so I can reach in the future

The rope can easily lay on top of the drain hole.

Boatrupt.. I replaced my pulpit by going in through the horn hole.. worked well but you need a skinny logo to get through the hole
