A/C thru hull leaking..

Figured I might as well start a thread on this because it was mixed in with another thread. 

Long story short: Found water in the bilge, at first it appeared the AC strainer was leaking, replaced that, realized the valve even when closed was letting water through.  Put another valve in line between the leaking valve and NEW A/C Strainer, that fixed the main leak.  (Then found a leak in the bathroom, that was ending up in here, fixed that and then found my kitchen sink faucet leaks too! ARGGGG)

However I'm not so sure the problem is fixed. Here's what the valve that is connected to the bottom of the boat looks like. 



I can dry it with a paper towel and then a couple hours later it's wet again. it seems to be geting moist where that 90 degree elbow goes into the valve. 

Assuming the only way to fix this is have the boat hauled out and completely replaced right? It doesn't appear to be leaking so much that it's an emergency, but I am planning on two trips this summer where I'll be sleeping on the boat for 5+ days at a time.  

Anyone have any quick fix ideas?   Figure I'll let my boat mechanic/yard get all the boats into the water and then hit them up End of may asking if they can repair first week of June

    Take the 90 out and clean up the threads. Use new tephlon tape and tighten back down. See what happens

    ah, perfect, didn't realize that could be done, I know my way around electronics, but not plumbing.. thanks for pointing out such an obvious thing..

    on a side note, I haven't found any evidence that tephlon tape was used on this boat in the other parts of the A/C system..

    Is that elbow metal?  Should be bronze or plastic (marelon).

    Before the "Shark Tank" TV show there was the British version "Dragon's Den." This product was on that show and was successful in getting investors. It is called "Sea Bung" and it allows you to repair a thru hull whilst the boat is still in the water. Here is the video that explains it:

    FYI I have no personal experience of the product, but I'm thinking of buying.

    Thanks Andy, yeah the problem is the other side of the thru hull has a cover on it... which wouldn't allow this product to work :( - BD - I think it's bronze.. it's probably never been changed (since 2004) it's dark with green at the moment.

    Remove and reseal using pipe dope.

    Dang, your finding leaks all over your boat, I can't find one. So did your a/c leaks drain to your mid ship r all the way back I looked at my mid ship and thought it would drain to the back but it does not. I have no watter in my mid ship bilge area
