Speedo tube on bravo III twin engines

Do both tubes have to be connected to each drive for the speedo to work?

Usually comes off 1 drive. Does not need 2.

I thought so. I can unclog one drive but the other won't give. Stuck drill bit all the way in and compressed air wont blow through

Put a drill on that bit

Ye most of the time it’s on the drive side.
when i had drives serviced they cleaned out the passage.
if you go into sandy areas your chances are pretty good to clog it within the same season.
i just use my gps actually.
if I see accurate mph I know how my boat is performing. In other words I know where I need to be to plane and cruise and that changes With load but mph needs to stay the same.

You can always get a digital gps one and forget about the speedo tube forever

yes starboard side is the one. when my drives were of last winter I soaked them for days to get it cleaned out. thin piece of wire going down from the top did the trick. shop vac got more out then compressor.
