I'm thinking of no Friday work...and taking Monday off and see what I can do! Keep in mind I'm in the car business and this is a busy weekend- I do fleet and commercial so usually my customers will be out on the river or hanging at the beach anyway...should be pretty nice out so will see how it goes. I have to fix the shift cable bellows first before she goes back in the water.
@aero3113 Glad you're loving' the 330. I started tracking my numbers at end of season when I got the VVM set up (tachs were always way off). We're pretty similar. Going cross current she seems to like 3900-4100 rpm and 28-30 mph. Fuel burn at that combination seems to be 1.10-1.15 mpg. Lower numbers tend to be fuller fuel tank.
It coverts to $$$$$$ 1 mpg at 30 mph = 30 gal per hour Sounds about right my boat holds 235 gallons so I should get 7 hours off a full tank with 10% reserve.
@aero3113 my posted numbers are 1.1-1.15 MPG. We go such short distances, it's just a more useful number to me. The VVM actually gives you the number in GPH and I have to convert it. Looking back at my notes the GPH figures at those speeds/rpm's were generally 24-26 GPH.
@aero3113 our water is usually pretty calm, so I'm probably more often in more ideal conditions than you'll be. Looking at my numbers, even at 4210 RPM's, and 31.7 MPH, it was 28.1 GPH.
I’ve been seeing my old 242 out a lot. The new owner said she’s been running like a top! He yelled over at me and asked if the 330 had air conditioning, I said yes. He yelled back “Let me know when it’s for sale!” I thought that was pretty funny.

So here's some more for you with this year being the first I have really played with the VVM and captured data. The last couple of weekends I have done phone screen captures and put into Excel (attached) for some analysis and come up with interesting results per the pic below. Columns A-D and H are from VVM, the rest are calculated from the VVM data, O2 and O3 are variables, fuel capacity of course isn't but if someone wants to use this and put in their own and trip length they can (@Spyderweb).
Data taken on the upper Hudson with a mix of tide activity but generally near dead low or near high with a calm to southerly up to about 5mph and in both directions. All theoretical of course, I couldn't get on plane from Ravena-Coeymans and run at 28mph on plane for 3.6 hours and get into the NYC area due to traffic and no wake areas etc but it's give a guide. Maybe good for you guys on the big open lakes that can sustain long on plane periods.
Here's the file also, it's basic but does what I needed. If I give it to my data genius son it would be much better
@icoultha i’ve been doing a similar thing with my VVM. Started last fall, and now adding figures with change in props. One thing I’ve noticed on mine and yours is the difference in gph between engines, even at very similar or same rpm’s. What’s that all about?
I wondered about that too @Spyderweb as you’d think they’d be the same with same hours - mine are within .2 of each other. It is a calculated number from the ECM, seems to be greater delta at higher revs but not consistent. I put it down to variable fuel flow on pumps, sensor, load maybe. That’s why I added the average GPH and RPM. Perhaps @Alswagg has some thoughts.
Exactly @LaRea. Need to do with a buddy, about 30mph is tops with the Admiral onboard, that's fast enough for her. He's also suggested that and he'll be my data logger!
So the guy that bought my 242 sold it already! He had it listed for a week and had 12 people lined up for it. Wasn’t even in the water and it sold! He wants to move up to a 26’-27’ boat.

Thursday on look great I will go and burn some furl for sure.

PS: No disrespect to the 242
