@Aero, can I ask a favor please (again)?  Could you please measure the distance from the transom to the outer edge of the bottom of the swim platform at both the midpoint and where the starboard side dinghy davit mount is?

    Thank you!!
    Will do

Midpoint is about 40” not including the rub rail.
    Starboard Mount is 34”

Is the platform about 7" thick?  Thanks!

I would say yes, even thicker. I can double check later today. With that question, what if you cut two square holes into the backside of the platform and slid the mounts in and bolted them down? Not sure if it’s possible and could be tough to do it right but would keep the mounts up high and away from dragging the dinghy in the water.

He should’ve done that in the video link you posted. It would’ve eliminated all of the spacers he used and give it a cleaner look. Would be much easier to do though on the platform he’s working on.

I would love to do it that way on the 330.  That's how I did it on my Four Winns, but it wasn't an integrated swim platform.

My only concern on the 330 would be the worry of water entering the hull through the two receivers.  Ideally I would cut the two 2.5" square holes out just below the rub rail and bolt the receivers to the lower part of the platform.

You can cap off and seal the end of box tube that would be in the platform then seal the edge of the tube on the outside. It would be really tough to get a perfect even cut on both.

I would have to fashion some sort of flange or maybe use some door edge type molding around the cut fiberglass.  On my old boat I did it with a jig saw and it came out quite good!  Once I had the bars in place I used Spectrum gel repair to make it near perfect.

@YYZRC depending on how thick the top and bottom of the swim platform is you have about 8-9 inches measuring from the outside. I didn’t get a chance to measure from the inside for you.

Wow, that’s a lot more girth than I expected! It would look way nicer integrated into the platform. Do you think it would be realistic to be able to reach in to the platform from the engine bay to release/install a pin to secure the tube in the receiver?

As much as I want to say yes, I think you would have a tough time doing that. Just for me to get at the starboard cleat nuts was a gigantic feat. I had to crawl in over the generator with the battery removed to reach it. I came to a point that I thought I was stuck and would have to call my wife, I kept calm and convinced myself that wouldn’t happen! LoL! When you can, take a look for yourself and make a decision.

What are your thoughts on how close to the leading edge of the platform it would be possible to bolt the receiver (on the bottom of the platform, not internal), based on your experience with the cleat?  If I bolt the receiver 4" back from the leading edge, I assume I will be ok?

I think you could probably even go closer, don’t take my word for it though, I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction. Best would be to mock it up before you start drilling holes.

I will for sure.  I need to weld a flange to the receiver to bolt it on and I'm planning the setback for that.  I will get everything welded up and ready to be powder coated.

    I really appreciate your help!

My boat was stored with the drives off. I replaced the anodes on the trim rams before COVID but I wasn’t able to replace the others since the drives are hanging somewhere.

Can I replace the drive anodes in the water? Marina wants over $400 to install new anodes which is asinine. I will swim in mighty cold water for 20 mins to save $400.

You can, might be a little tough though. Do it on a nice calm day with a snorkel and mask.

I will be out there in a couple of hours. I will confirm when I’m in the engine compartment. That was a measurement I took from outside, not 100% accurate.

Did the longer struts on the transom locker. Loving it!! Will patch paste the holes next weekend.

Never even thought about being able to do longer struts. That is way better.

Also I can't believe they want $400 for anodes that's absolutely ridiculous!!! 😠🤯😵
