Any idea what the "SWIM LTS" switch is supposed to do?

Would that be for the Seablaze lights? I have that switch also. Doesn’t turn anything on for me.

The underwater lights were wired in to one of the accessory switches to the right of the steering wheel.

I did find an unused molex connector when I was working on the boat. It was tie wrapped with the bilge pump and float wiring. I wonder if the switch powers this connector? Next time you’re on the boat see if you have one also.

Next time I’m on the boat I’ll check for power.

I don’t think so, the wiring behind the switch is dark blue with light blue stripe. Mine was cut and wasn’t connected to anything.

Now you really have me wondering. My high water alarm float doesn’t have power to it and I checked the float, it works. I wonder if this molex is for the high water alarm float and the one that it’s currently connected to goes to the switch. Would be crazy but I have found some strange stuff on the boat.

That would be messed up! I was going to ask about the high water alarm...

I will check mine too next time I’m at the boat.

I’m guessing the blue/blue wire terminates somewhere in the harness that runs along the transom.

You know what, I think the wires to the float for the high water alarm had a blue with a light blue stripe and a black wire. Would be amazing if this is why mine isn’t working. I would go out and check now but I have the fire going and my wife and kids fell asleep.

My wife woke up and I quickly ran outside to check. Holy Cr&p that was it!! I turned on the swim light then lifted the high water alarm float and it popped the swim light breaker! I checked for power at the empty molex and it has 12 volts! I have to crimp new bullets but this is crazy! This must not have worked since new!

    @YYZRC , Team work !!!!

This pic you can see the breaker popped also!

@YYZRC this is where my “swim light” connector is.

I just temporally stuck bare wires in the high water alarm float molex connector. The high water alarm now sounds when I lift the float!!

@YYZRC this would’ve taken me months to track down!!

I set up my phone to video the speaker to see if the light turns on, yes it does! This is why this forum is so great!

I do have another open plug on the port side. Has heavier gauge wire to it. I’ll have to look into that one also.

Brown/Black is “WIPER” at the helm switch but it’s not heavy gauge.

Maybe it’s pink/black. According to this link it could be port fuel sender, maybe for a digital gauge?

Would be strange to be heavy gauge though.

Could be, what would “Port Alarm” be for with heavy gauge?

    Maybe a fume detector?

It doesn’t have any power to it, I don’t know if it’s wired to a switch or gauge.

Boy, I sure miss having access to my boat like you guys.  I have an ACC switch where you have SWIM LIGHT.  @aero3113, maybe your boat was scheduled to get underwater lights, but then didn't?

  • aero3113aero3113 Member Posts: 9,774 ✭✭✭✭✭
That’s strange @Spyderweb . But either way, it doesn’t make sense that the high water alarm float was hooked up to that switch.

I checked my original panel and it had the swim light switch also, just in a different position.

I have the two acc switches on my 280 and did notice the empty connectors in the back. I assumed one is underwater lights and the other is washdown since I think these were both options. I have the wash down by the swim ladder bit I think the other is for the pumped washd from the river/lake/ocean water.

@Aqua_Aura , that would make sense why my plug has the heavy gauge wire. I’ll have to check my accessory switches.
